Since the war in Ukraine began, more than 2.2 million children have been forced to flee to other countries in the EU. We wanted to do something to help Ukrainian kids feel at home in their strange, new surroundings using some friendly faces - their favourite cartoon characters from back home.

So Mother London teamed up with the BBC and brought characters from Ukrainian animation Mavka into British cartoon Hey Duggee, the most watched kids show on the BBC. In our special episode, Duggee and The Squirrels welcome the cartoon refugees with open arms and teach kids everywhere how to welcome their Ukrainian guests.
